▶ TORSIONAL ABSORBER
The Torsional Absorber is a special spacer-damper that was designed and tested by Salvi with the collaboration of the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Politecnico di Milano.
This special spacer damper has been realized to solve the problems of galloping and sub-span oscillations on quad bundle T/L with monometallic conductors in critical wind areas and adverse environmental conditions.

A specific damping study will be executed by Salvi and it will indicate the best solution to be adopted and the possible use of the Torsional Absorber

▶ SPACERS FOR EXPANDED BUNDLES
All overhead bundle power lines are affected by the same problem: energized phase conductors generate electrical fields that produce undesired effects (such as power loss) during power transmission.
In Brazil the effects of electrical fields have been minimized by increasing the distance between sub-conductors of same phase obtaining a spacing of 1,000 mm to 1,200 mm symmetric or asymmetric.
Salvi has actively participated to the development of all the Brazilian projects executed since 1996. Development of design of expanded bundle was dedicated to finding the solution to some problems regarding insulator strings and damping system:

▶ SPECIAL COMPONENTS
Salvi has designed and manufactured special products to satisfy particular mechanical requirements and/or particular installation needs. Some of them are listed here below:
> Cast iron yokes for six bundle conductor line designed for AEP – USA with the aim of simplifying the stringing activities
> Adaptor for installation of corona rings on insulator strings where they were not originally installed on transmission lines in USA.
